What happens when a garden hose that has one of those multi spray attachment tools is left on all night..?

I left a neighbours hose on tonight (I think..) and i’m just wondering what will happen if I really did forget to turn the water off. I mean, I don’t understand teh concept of how water can be coming out of the outdoor tap and through the hose without the hose exploding or something. Where does the water go if no one is spraying it out? It’s so confusing…

Odds are, it will leak out a bit at the tap or on the end, but it has something to do with pressure and if there is no way out for the water, it just backs back up to where it came from.

I’ve done it loads of times and never had a flood.

Nothing should happen unless the nozel is kinda old and the rubber around is cracked then it will leak alittle but not that much…so you don’t have to worry about the water bill, lol
